Info : Rikitikitavi
Rikitikitavi is a good value, modern Asian style boutique hotel, whose lovely terrace bar/restaurant looks out west to the Tek Chou River below and the Elephant Mountains beyond. It is European owned and managed and has 5 individually decorated rooms.
The rooms are in a converted rice barn, are of a good size and carefully furnished with Cambodian sourced wood products and artworks. Our recommended rooms have a private patio with a table and chairs. They have large spring mattresses, a/c, hot power showers, mini bars and T.V and DVD players.
The hotel is situated in the heart of Kampots colonial era riverfront bars and restaurants. With its terrace bar, Rikitikitavi is a beautiful place to relax with a drink while watching the sun set. The restaurant is run by a western trained Cambodian chef and offers a good selection of traditional Khmer dishes and western alternatives. The management keeps the kitchen, and its ingredients, to exacting standards and both the Western and Khmer dishes are of a high quality.
Rikitikitavi is in a great location to explore the history, architecture and culture of Kampot and offers a range of activities and excursions to the local areas of interest. These include visits to the nearby Bokor National Park, Limestone Caves, Tek Chou Rapids and boat trips, both up the river and out to coastal islands. The hotel is great value for anyone looking to explore one of the lesser known delights of Cambodia.
Rating
Value - This is our lead in category. There will generally be a no frills approach and while some will be characterful, some will do exactly what it says on the tin – provide a clean, comfortable and good value place to spend the night. These places are normally 3* hotels, but in areas where there is little choice or if it is a very good place, it may be what would generally be described in Asia as a 'guesthouse'.
