Info : La Residence
Siem Reaps La Residence is a fine boutique property in the centre of town. With 54 Deluxe Rooms and 1 Grande Suite, it offers some of the most tasteful accommodation within reach of the temples of Angkor Wat. Each of the rooms and suites at La Residence d'Angkor are exquisitely decorated using traditional hardwoods, bamboo and natural textiles such as silk and cotton. Light and airy, with jewel-like silk scatter cushions and floor-to-ceiling windows, they exude peace and tranquillity.
All rooms have a terrace overlooking the pool, river or lush tropical gardens, and are elegantly furnished with loungers and a table just perfect for an early evening cocktail. Each room and suite has a large free-form bath with plenty of space for relaxing after long days of exploring the surrounding area of Siem Reap and beyond.
A long, oblong swimming pool is flanked by tropical trees and sun loungers and provides an escape from the heat in the hot seasons. The hotel is set within a large walled garden and was designed with the assistance of the Artisans dAngkor a school of artists from around Cambodia.
There is a great indoor fine dining restaurant raised above the lobby, serving Khmer and international dishes. An outdoor terrace bar with high roof and plentiful ceiling fans serves a variety of cocktails, drinks and snacks and food can also be served around the pool. Other useful facilities include a fitness centre, boutique and battery driven bikes for exploring the area.
The hotel La Residence dAngkor is another fine accommodation option in Siem Reap and, like the temples themselves, wont disappoint.

Rating
Deluxe - Deluxe hotels would have a superb level of service, very comfortable and usually spacious bedrooms, excellent food, great design and character. For us, when we visited, these places all had the 'wow factor'. A deluxe hotel should satisfy the criteria of the most discerning clients.
