The property is big and somewhat impersonal but the facilities make it a great base for those looking for some familiar creature comforts when in the city. The location is ideal for exploring the city by foot, with some of the most picturesque lakes and sites on your doorstep.

The famous 'old quarter' of the city is very cramped and hotels tend to be small and intimate. Staying at the Sofitel Plaza you have ample space and additional facilities (such as a swimming pool) which are a rarity in the old quarter. The hotel also has a free shuttle bus service to key landmarks around the town.

We think this makes it a great option for families staying in Hanoi during the summer as it provides a refuge from the intense summer heat.
