Mango Bay Resort

Info : Mango Bay Resort

The Mango Bay Resort is one of our favourite beach properties in all of Asia. Located on the rugged northern shores of Phu Quoc Island, the resort occupies a large piece of pristine land with wide beach frontage, rocky outcrops, large trees and windswept gardens.

With two pristine beaches and a location away from the main areas of development, the peace, tranquillity and natural beauty combine to create one of the best getaways in Vietnam.

Accommodation is in a sprinkling of wooden bungalows and fired earth cottages. These vary in shape and size but all have sea views. Most have outdoor bathrooms with solar powered hot water. The bungalows are spacious with large shutters on three sides and a large veranda area with daybeds. The rooms are furnished in a very minimal fashion and aside from beds and a fan there is almost nothing there. Total relaxation is the theme and with so much space and natural beauty it is hard not be seduced.

The resort has a restaurant and lounge bar overlooking the sea. A variety of tasty Vietnamese and international dishes are freshly prepared by the friendly staff. There are a number of games and the resort offers a few excursions in the local area as well as boat trips and snorkeling. Motorbikes are also available to rent for exploring the island. However, the main reason to visit Mango Bay is to discard your shoes & watches and relax.

Phu Quoc Island is reached by a one hour flight from Ho Chi Minh City. There are regular daily flights. Mango Bay is a fifteen minute drive from the island's airport.

For natural beauty, privacy and calm few places can challenge Mango Bay. This resort is certainly not for everyone, but for those looking to appreciate the simple things in life and lose track of time, it doesnt get much better. Highly recommended.

Eco/Outdoors/Homestay - This category covers gorgeous eco lodges in the jungle, comfortable safari camps, very basic homestays and dreamy, but simple, beach cabanas. These places defy conventional categorisation: what is communing with nature to one person may be terrifying bugs to another! Many of these places are very comfortable and the service generally of a very high level – but a guest staying at any place in this categorisation must read the website review carefully and/or talk to us and be sure to have understood what they are letting themselves in for!
