Chau Long Hotel is one of Sapaâs finer properties, offering accommodation with great views across the surrounding mountainous landscape. The hotel has been developed in stages and is spread across two buildings.

The rooms in the newer wing are definitely the ones to go for. These have private balconies and are furnished in a comfortable, modern style.

The hotel has excellent facilities including an unusually designed jacuzzi and massage centre (popular after hikes), swimming pool, pub/lounge bar, free internet access and a quality restaurant with great panoramic views.

Most of the hotelâs rooms look directly onto Mount Fan Si Pan, Vietnamâs highest peak. Sapa is located at cloud level and the views frequently appear and disappear through the mist. The climate is highly agreeable here, and in winter additional heating is needed in the evenings.

A variety of day treks are available through the hotel as well as longer hikes which include home-stays in nearby villages. The area around Sapa is stunningly beautiful, with rolling hills, valleys and waterfalls. Sapa itself is a charming town with much to see and do.

The hotel is located in town and its many attractions are easily accessed on foot. Sapa is accessed by train from Hanoi, and most people choose to take the overnight sleeper trains. The Chau Long Hotel is an alternative to the Victoria Hotel, and combines great facilities with a great location and excellent service.
