Info : Caravelle

The Caravelle has in the past described its ambiance as one of "relaxed conviviality" and we would agree with this statement. A 5 star hotel but free from pretence it is situated in the heart of bustling Ho Chi Minh City.

The original hotel was built in 1959 and housed 10 stories but in the late 1990s a new wing was built which houses the rooms today. So, now with 24 stories, The Caravelle is one of the cities tallest hotels thus the well appointed rooms command some of the best views in town.

Facilities at the Caravelle include a superb outdoor pool and the excellent and serene Qi Spa with great value treatment packages. A sumptuous buffet breakfast can be devoured in 'Nineteen' and a range of interesting cocktails can be enjoyed in the lobby lounge. In the original part of the building guests can visit the popular 'Saigon, Saigon' bar and sip Saigon beer whilst looking out at the view of Saigon. At the close of the Vietnam War the bar was frequented by American journalists who would keep an eye on the front line from their bar stools.

This hotel is a great choice for reliably good rooms, service, facilities and location.

Deluxe - Deluxe hotels would have a superb level of service, very comfortable and usually spacious bedrooms, excellent food, great design and character. For us, when we visited, these places all had the 'wow factor'. A deluxe hotel should satisfy the criteria of the most discerning clients.
