The Hintok River camp is one of the best options when visiting Kanchanaburi. Situated close to the famous 'Hellfire Pass', the hotel occupies a great location overlooking the river Kwai.
Accommodation is in 32 luxury tents with all the amenities you could need including air-conditioning. The tents feature twin or queen size beds with en-suite bathrooms with open-air showers decorated in Thai-safari style.
The camp has a central restaurant overlooking the river which serves a range of Thai and Asian cuisine as well as a good range of cocktails. There are also regular bbq dinners around the camp fire.
One of the properties most unique features is a small spring pool with great views over the river. The range of excursions offered is particularly impressive and broad. Mountain biking, boat trips, canoeing, temple visits, caving, walking, bamboo rafting, village visits and a range of treks and hikes can be arranged through the friendly staff. The camp is also a great base for anyone interested in exploring the Hellfire Pass and other World War 2 sites in the area as well as the fabulous Erawan National Park and waterfalls.
The Hintok River Camp is one of Thailand's most interesting camps and offers a great range of activities and excursions with a good blend of adventurous yet comfortable accommodation.
