The beaches on the south of Koh Chang are some of the island’s best. The Bhumiyama Beach resort has a prime location Tah Nam Beach, with expansive gardens and wide beach frontage.

The resort’s two-storey villas are definitely the pick of the accommodation. Spread through the gardens, they offer more space, privacy and amenities than the ‘standard rooms’. Prices vary slightly between the ground and upper floor and proximity to the beach. Outdoor bathrooms are an interesting touch, with large sunken bath-tubs, separate showers, large mirrors and small interior garden with plants and flowers. Interiors are comfortable, with chairs and wooden floors. Room facilities are good too, with plenty of storage, dvd players and hot drink making facilities. The ‘standard rooms’ are built into a two storey block overlooking the garden and pool. These are nicely furnished, with en-suite bathrooms and private balconies.

The resort has a huge swimming pool overlooking the beach. There is a separate children’s pool. The garden is lush, with swaying palms, winding walkways and flowing streams. The beach-side bar also serves food. There is a separate two-storey restaurant. Meals can also be taken in the many outdoor, beach-view tables.

The long and narrow beach is superb. Great for swimming and sunbathing it has a relaxed atmosphere and slow pace. There are only a handful of other properties on the beach and it’s rarely busy as a result. There are a couple of great little restaurants nearby to find inexpensive drinks and tasty island fare, seafood being the best.

The Bhumiyama Beach Resort is a great option for families and couples seeking something comfortable but short of indulgent luxury. The resort would also appeal to travellers returning to Thailand who once back-packed. Overall, an excellent value and well-equipped beach resort with wide appeal.

Comfort - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, whether it is character, service or excellent facilities.
