Located in the centre of Hua Hin beach, Baan Bayan was built in the early 1900s. A fine example of a Thai colonial style wooden house, it has been meticulously restored to its former glory and transformed into a small hotel. The house has 21 suite rooms - all unique and split into different categories depending on size and view. Elegantly furnished with a selection of antique pieces from different periods, the hotel is very comfortable and full of character.

There are two swimming pools in front of the house, which stand elevated from the beach below. There is a small garden and two shady veranda pavilions which overlook the beach. The poolside bar is open all day for drinks, cocktails and a wide selection of food. Evening meals are taken around the pool, with delightful floor lights illuminating the house in the background. The hotel offers aromatic and traditional Thai massages which can be enjoyed outside or in your room.

The hotel is laid back and lacks the formality of many other resorts in the area. It would be an excellent choice for families or those seeking somewhere with a more traditional flavour. A great location in the centre of the beach within easy walking distance of Hua Hins many attractions.

Superior - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.
