Arun Residence is an intimate city hotel in a great location overlooking the Chao Phrya River and the iconic Wat Arun (The Temple of Dawn) and Wat Po (Temple of the Reclining Buddha)

Six well appointed small rooms, including one twin, offer comfort within easy walking of some major city attractions. All have views across the river. The Arun Suite, on the top floor, is the pick of the bunch; it has a large private veranda and roof garden overlooking the river. All rooms have teak wood floors, en-suite bathrooms and air-conditioning. Three rooms have split level flooring with double beds.

The Residence, once a private house, has been cleverly refurbished and modified to suit the needs of the modern traveller. The hotel offers the expected comforts but maintains a homely atmosphere. The restaurant juts out on a raised platform above the river - a great location to observe the life below. Named the Deck by The River it serves a la carte meals for breakfast and throughout the day.

Arun Residence is well located for travellers wanting to stay beside the river with the personal touch and is excellent value.

Value - This is our lead in category. There will generally be a no frills approach and while some will be characterful, some will do exactly what it says on the tin – provide a clean, comfortable and good value place to spend the night. These places are normally 3* hotels, but in areas where there is little choice or if it is a very good place, it may be what would generally be described in Asia as a 'guesthouse'.
