Amanpuri, the first of the Amans properties, has been open since 1998. It is testament to its design and service that it remains one of Phuket's finest resorts.

Nestled into forested hills around the beautiful crescent shaped sandy bay of Surin Beach, Amanpuri is elegance and tranquillity personified. Forty Thai-styled pavilions and thirty private villas are interspersed through a mature coconut plantation with dramatic effect. Each pavilion includes a large bedroom, spacious living area, separate bath and shower and outside 'sala' (pavilion) and sun deck. Elevated walkways connect the pavilions to the resorts various facilities.

The pavilions differ from the more modern resorts in their extensive use of wood. The villas are spacious and airy, with large bathrooms with open bathtub and shower.

The turquoise blue waters glisten peacefully in the high season, as guests enjoy the sea breezes and luxurious surroundings.

This is the resort that Kate Moss and Pete Doherty are rumoured to have been married in. Discreet, luxurious and serenely peaceful.
