Bangkok has been dubbed the 'Venice of the East' on account of the "klongs" or canals that run through its back streets and have historically been an important means of transport within the city. Take a tour of Bangkok to get a unique perspective on life in the city, one that most visitors don't get to see and that gets you a little away from the tourist crowds in the centre of town. Pass by rice barges, school children on their way to school, monks clad in their orange robes, and river taxis used by local residents. We'll generally combine this trip with a visit to the Grand Palace too.
