Thailand, Around Bangkok
Info : Bridge over the River Kwai
The Death Railway and The Bridge Over The River Kwai were built by prisoners of war during the Second World War. They are situated in the stunning Kanchanaburi province, north of Bangkok. The original bridge has now been replaced by a more secure structure, however the railway still exists and the surrounding area houses a museum and prisoner of war cemetery. Day trips are possible from Bangkok hotels and often include a trip on the railway and lunch.
