Description : Muang La Resort

The Muang La Resort is a beautiful high-end lodge on the banks of the Nam Pak River in Oudom Xai province, northern Laos.

Accommodation consists of six charming wooden bungalows in a pretty garden. Simple and at the same time luxurious, the room have private balconies, rain showers and high ceilings.

Natural hot springs dot the river below the resort. A relaxing spring water bath has been built overlooking the mountains and river and opens every evening for hotel guests. There is a herbal steam room too and both treatments are free for residents. An additional thatched sala offers traditional Lao massage.

The restaurant and lounge area overlook the river from a raised wooden deck. Life from the nearby village provides an ever changing view of laid back activity at the waters edge.

The culinary experience has been given particular attention. The set menu changes every night but always includes three starters and two main dishes. The cuisine is always Lao style but with a range of dishes from across the country, cooked with love and plenty of imagination.

Excursions are broad and varied. Guided walks, trekking, cave trips, village visits, 4x4 adventure drives, cycling tours and boat trips can be arranged through the resort. The mountains around Muang La are spectacularly beautiful and the region does not get many foreign tourists so remains relatively unexplored. Muang La can be as adventurous or relaxing as you want it to be.
