Located in the heart of Luang Prabang, Maison Souvannaphoum is the most stylish property within the boundaries of the UNESCO world heritage zone. The hotel is surrounded by ancient temples and spectacular mountains, elements that have always charmed visitors to this picturesque town. The hotel is owned by the Colours of Angsana group - known for its small but impressive collection of properties around Asia.

The building was once the residence of Prince Souvannaphouma and maintains an elegant, regal feel. The property has been restored in a style that respects and protects the buildings past but embraces the future.

The hotel has 24 rooms, divided into Garden Rooms on the ground floor and Veranda Rooms on the upper level. All are sumptuously appointed with over-sized beds, fresh tea/coffee making facilities, satellite television and wireless internet.

The Angsana Spa is the other main attraction, offering massages and treatments in sublime surroundings in outdoor spa pavilions.

The Maison Souvannaphoum is also the only hotel in the centre of Luang Prabang to have a swimming pool. The restaurant serves French, Laotian and Indochinese dishes to an exceptional standard in a beautiful setting.

Many of Luang Prabangs main attractions such as the Royal Palace, temples and Mount Phousi are within easy walking distance. The hotel also has bikes for rent for anyone preferring to explore with pedal power.

Superior - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.
