The tour starts in Luang Prabang and a thorough explanation of this amazing, mysterious city. From here there is an amazing boat journey up to the much less visited north of the country and an unforgettable stay at Muang la Lodge.
You will fly from here to the capital, Vientienne, with its French colonial influences before going on down to Pakse and the beautiful 4000 Islands region. Since Laos is landlocked, the 4000 Islands re the nearest Laos gets to a relaxing beach which makes them an ideal place to finish.

Day-to-Day Itinerary : Laos Adventure in Style
DAY 1
On arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Luang Prabang
DAY 2
Begin the exploration with a full day tour of wonderful and evocative Luang Prabang and its beautiful temples and distinctive architecture.
DAY 3
Today we explore the extraordinary local produce at the Phousi Market and the culture of the surrounding villages. The afternoon is free. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
DAY 4
We begin our boat adventure up the Nam Ou, enjoying the lush green forests and breathtaking scenery. Along the way we stop to visit villages and the mysterious caves of Pak Ou. Late afternoon we reach our destination for the night, Nong Khiaw.
DAY 5
This morning we take a boat up to Muang Ngoi, a picturesque little fishing village an hour upstream from Nong Khiaw. We then trek to the Tham Kang and continue through rice paddy fields onto the Lao Loum village of Ban Na, which is only accessible by foot, thereby retaining much of its original character. We trek back to Muang Ngoi and return to Nong Khiaw by early evening.
DAY 6
This morning we have time for a short walk to Tham Pha Thok, a limestone cave where villagers hid during the Indochina War. The caves offer a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside. We then get back on the road, this time heading north to Muang La, a picturesque village famous for its hot springs. Overnight at the wonderful Muang La Lodge.
DAY 7
Approaching by van and then on foot we visit the first minority village inhabited by the Hmong, who originate from the mountains of Tibet. We learn about their everyday way of life and more specifically, the important role of animals in the village. We also visit an old military camp which is a harsh reminder of the immense suffering of the Lao people during the Vietnam war. Overnight in Muang La .
DAY 8
Following a leisurely morning we transfer to Udomxay for your flight to Vientiane.Overnight in Vientiane.
DAY 9
After breakfast, we do a full day tour of Vientiane. Overnight in Vientiane
DAY 10
Transfer to the airport and fly to Pakse. On arrival at Pakse, you will be met and taken by road west into the Bolevean Plateau and the magnificent Tad Fan waterfall. Overnight at Kingfisher Eco Lodge.
DAY 11
Today provides you with a unique opportunity to learn to ride an elephant through the Kingfisher ‘Elephant Riders School’. Overnight at Kingfisher
DAY 12
Today we leave Kingfisher Ecolodge and visit the pre-Angkorian ruins of Wat Phu, one of Southeast Asia's most dramatically situated temples. We continue our journey by long tail boat to Done Daeng, and home to La Folie Lodge where you have the rest of the day to relax or to explore the island.
DAY 13
After an early breakfast, we head south by road and boat to explore Done Khone and the area known as the 4000 islands.
DAY 14
After breakfast; you will be transferred back to Pakse for your onwards connections.
