The Damai is a beautiful boutique hotel in the lower northern volcanic hills of Bali, overlooking Lovina and the northern coastline below. It offers tranquillity, relaxation and traditional Balinese style surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens.
The 14 rooms are beautifully furnished with Balinese hardwood pieces and local antiques to create an elegant and authentic style. The deluxe villas are kept private by the surrounding lush tropical gardens and come with small verandas and a large open air bathroom with a Jacuzzi. The rooms themselves are very comfortable and relaxing. The pool villas come with butler service, a large veranda with a sea-view and large private pool. The villas are large with separate living areas and are beautifully furnished. For families there are also two and three bedroom pool villas.
A real highlight of the hotel is the fantastic Asian fusion menu and the stunning views from the pavilion restaurant. The hotel and surrounding area is incredibly peaceful and there are some lovely walks in the area and some more strenuous treks can be arranged in the higher mountains above the hotel. There is a communal pool that is not big but is a very relaxing spot to take in the setting.
Although many will find the draw of relaxing within the hotel too much to resist there is plenty to keep you occupied. In nearby Lovina it is possible to go on a dolphin watching trip, while the famous diving and snorkeling spot of Menjangan Island is easily accessible in a day trip. Closer to home the hotel can also arrange horse riding trips, cycle hire and cooking courses.

Superior - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.
