Ko-Ko-Mo provides modern, comfortable and good value pool villas on the lively sand bank island of Gili Trawangan. Known for a long time simply as a backpacker’s paradise, Gili T –as it is known – is fast becoming a more upmarket destination particularly suited to younger couples and families. Ko-Ko-Mo is one of this new breed of hotels and is now one of the best places to stay on the island.

The 11 pool villas – split into 1, 2 and 3 bed villas – are at the quiet southern end of Gili T’s main beach, away from the lively hub of the island. The villas are minimalist in design but have a good range of modern facilities and amenities. The rooms are not huge but they have a good sized private outdoor area with a private pool, dining area and day bed. The one bed villas have a small plunge pool while the larger villas have larger pools.

The food is of a good standard, although it is more expensive than some of the restaurants along the coast, and the beach-side restaurant is a lovely setting to eat or drink while the sun goes down. While the service is friendly and on hand to help when needed, the villas are very private and you are left somewhat up to your own devices during your stay, which does slightly come down to personal preference.

Gili T is a great place to sit and relax on the beach and swim in the incredibly tranquil sea or for the more active snorkeling, diving and surfing is all possible. The night life is very varied for such a small island, while the lack of motorised transport creates a very relaxed pace to life.

Comfort - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, whether it is character, service or excellent facilities.
