This classic itinerary offers first time visitors the chance to experience the magical ancient history of Java and the culture, beaches and scenery of Bali whilst staying in a good standard (comfort level) of accommodation.

The tour starts in the historic city of Yogyakarta, where you will have three active days to explore the city and the awe inspiring Prambanan and Borobudur temples. You will then head to Bali to take in the stunning volcanic scenery around Munduk and Balis cultural capital of Ubud before finishing with time to relax in the trendy beach resort of Seminyak.

In common with all of our holidays, you will be privately guided on all transfers and day activities giving you flexibility and independence with the comfort of knowing that all the arrangements are safely made for you.

DAY 1

Depart London Heathrow for Yogyakarta, Java

DAYS 2, 3 & 4 HOTEL PHOENIX, YOGJAKARTA

Arrive in Yogyakarta and be met by your chauffeur, guide and private car. Take the short drive into the city for a three night stay at Hotel Phoenix, Yogyakarta, which is in a great central location from which to explore the town and get to the sites. During your stay you will have a guided tour of the historical city, a sunset tour of the beautiful Hindu Prambanan Temple followed by an evening dance performance and a sunrise tour of the majestic Borobudur Temple, a serious contender for the title of eighth wonder of the world.

DAYS 5 & 6 MUNDUK MODING PLANTATION

After a short flight to Denpasar, Bali, you will head into the dramatic volcanic mountains around Munduk and the tranquillity of Munduk Moding Plantation. The hotel is perched on the side of a mountain and the stand alone villas look out over the lush slopes below. From here we have included a guided walk through lush tropical forests, followed by a trip on a traditional canoe across the deep blue waters of the crater lake Tamblingan. You will have the opportunity to hire bicycles, undertake more strenuous treks or simply sit back in the infinity pool and enjoy the views over the northern coastline below. (2 nights, Bed and Breakfast)

DAYS 7, 8 & 9 WAKA DI UME, UBUD

Heading south into the lower foothills you will have three nights on the outskirts of Ubud, Balis cultural capital. Famous for its markets, temples, great selection of restaurants and its traditional Balinese architecture, Ubud town is a great place for private exploration. The town is surrounded by steep river valleys and glistening paddy fields and we have included a walking tour of a local village. Waka Di Ume is built amongst paddy fields and while it is close enough for the town to be easily accessible it still retains a rural feel. (3 nights, Bed and Breakfast)

DAYS 10, 11, 12 & 13 UMA SAPNA, SEMINYAK

The holiday will finish with 4 nights of relaxation in a stylish private spa pool villa in the heart of the trendy beach resort of Seminyak. The wide white-sand beach is complimented with a great selection of restaurants and bars while still retaining a laid back charm. This is a great place for couples who like to be able to get out and about during their beach holidays. (4 nights, Bed and Breakfast)
