Description : Classic Vietnam & Luxury Beach

This is a reverse twist on our Classic Vietnam Itinerary and includes a variety of quality hotels and a three night stay at the super-luxury and indulgent Nam Hai near Hoi An.

This itinerary starts in vibrant Hanoi which is a wonderful start to any travel in Asia - Hanoi is in some ways the quintessential Asian city. As wellas atmospheric streets of the old quater, there are several smaller museums and of course, Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum which is a very different experience!

After an overnight cruise to Halong Bay, on one of the bays' best boats, you'll fly down to Hue to explore this pleasant university city with its majestic tombs and ancient citadel just outside.

The highlight of tripfor many will be Hoi An - and the evocative old town. Your hotel here is a real luxury treat - the Nam Hai is out of this world but better value than most luxury hotels of the world as Vietnam is still not a developed beach destination.

Finally, you'll finish with a couple of nights in Saigon, with a trip off the beaten track to Cai Be in the Mekong Delta and of course a full day exploring the sites of Siagon - such as the Cu Chi Tunnels and the highly moving 'Remembrance Museum'.

DAY 1

Depart London Heathrow

DAYS 2 & 3

Arrive in Hanoi. Private transfer to the the boutique Maison D'Hanoi, where you will stay two nights. We include a guided tour in order to get your bearings (and learn to cross the road!) as well as free time to wander around and explore this extraordinary city.

DAY 4

Journey by private vehicle to Halong Bay for an overnight stay on a classic junk boat whilst cruising around the dramatic limestone cliffs of the eastern coast. The Indochina Red Dragon boat will be you home for tonight - stay includes all meals.

DAYS 5 & 6

Return to Hanoi by private vehicle and then fly with Vietnam Airlines to Hue. Two nights in a Deluxe Villa at the excellent Pilgrimage village hotel. Plenty of interesting optional excursions in and around Hue, one of Vietnam's most enchanting and romantic cities.

DAYS 7, 8 & 9

Travel in your own private vehicle south towards Hoi An via the dramatic Hai Van Pass or Cloudy Pass. Hai Van is the country's highest traversable pass and overlooks the scattered fishing villages and rice paddies of Hue. Three nights in a One Bedroom Villa at the spectacular Nam Hai - Vietnam's premier luxury property.

DAYS 10, 11 & 12

Transfer by private vehicle to Danang airport and fly with Vietnam Airlines to Ho Chi Minh city. Stay three nights in a Colonial Room at the Majestic Hotel. Your stay in Saigon includes a half day tour to the Cu Chi Tunnels and a full day excursion on your final day to the Mekong Delta waterways.
