The Hotel Queen is a small yet highly functional city hotel in downtown Mandalay. Spread across six floors, the hotel’s compact rooms offer excellent value accommodation in a bustling part of the city.

Whilst the rooms are relatively small and uninspiringly decorated, they offer comfortable beds, air-conditioning, wooden seating areas, satellite tv, free tea and coffee and en-suite bathrooms with piping hot water.

The downstairs lobby has free wifif internet, a selection of newspapers and ample seating. The hotel has a lively atmosphere throughout and appeals to a range of travellers, from site-seeing tourists to Chinese traders.

The Hotel Queen has a small restaurant and a cocktail and coffee bar where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. The breakfast is surprisingly varied, offering European, Burmese and Asian dishes.

The hotel is surrounded by restaurant, cafes, beer gardens and market stalls. A great selection of local food is available within a short stroll. A lively seafood BBQ restaurant is just around the corner, where you can choose from a vast variety of meats, fish and vegetables, all of which will be freshly grilled.

Whilst the hotel will not win any awards for luxury, The Hotel Queen’s local flavour, idiosyncratic design, warm hospitality and ample comforts make it a great value option in the heart of Mandalay.
