The excellent Bagan River View Hotel is designed with a nod to ancient bagan temple architecture with terracotta brick used throughout to compliment the modern facilities.

The 107 rooms are spread out in separate single-storey buildings. Split into six categories, the lead-in is the Deluxe room, followed by a range of Suite options. Rooms creatively incorporate brick and wood into their simple yet pleasant decor. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning and satellite television.

Set in a large, shaded garden with a quality free-form swimming pool, the hotel even has its own ancient temple stupa situated within its’ perimeter. ‘Temple dining’ with a romantic and atmospheric temple-side banquet can be arranged on request.

The main restaurant is situated overlooking the river and offers a serene setting to enjoy the Burmese and European cuisine.

The hotel manages to capture the essence of ancient Bagan in its design without ever feeling kitsch or over-done.
